Applications Engineering is a specialist supplier of high-quality mechanical switches and sensors. For over 34 years, the business has served a broad range of industries, building a reputation for product quality and technical expertise. As a small, busy team supplying a specialist B2B market, Applications Engineering relied on Access Dimensions to manage stock, orders and finance. The system had served the business well, but as operations grew more complex, it could no longer keep pace.
The challenge
Access Dimensions had been at the heart of Applications Engineering’s operations for two decades. Moving away from it was not a decision the team took lightly, but the limitations had become impossible to ignore. The system lacked flexibility, manual processes were consuming time and key areas, including bills of materials, stock visibility, SKU management and product assemblies were not working efficiently. Integration with Xero was also essential and Access Dimensions could not deliver it.

The solution
BlueHub visited the team on site, which helped build a clear picture of day-to-day operations and ensured the implementation was designed around how the business actually worked. Recognising that a small, resource-constrained team couldn’t afford disruption, BlueHub managed the project flexibly, allowing it to be paused when business priorities shifted.
BlueHub implemented Cin7 Core and integrated it directly with Xero, automating the financial tracking and reporting. They also integrated WooCommerce, connecting online sales.
