From Legacy Systems to a Connected Operation in Four Months
Background
Bailey Instruments is a UK-based supplier of precision surgical instruments and medical devices, serving the NHS and international healthcare providers. As the business grew, it became clear that the systems holding the operation together were no longer fit for purpose.
The challenge
They were running on a combination of Sage 50 and Link 50, neither were in the cloud nor integrated and departments frequently held conflicting data that had to be reconciled. Reporting and forecasting were done manually in Excel. Landed costs were not being tracked effectively. Backorder visibility was poor, making it difficult for the team to give customers accurate information on lead times. Warehouse scanning was inefficient, adding further friction to day-to-day fulfilment.
Bailey needed an automated system that could handle complex compliance and reporting requirements, connect seamlessly with its sales channels and finance software, and give the whole team a single, reliable data source.
The solution
BlueHub began with a thorough business process and system review, working through every stage of Bailey’s operation to understand the gaps and define the right approach. That review led to the recommendation of Cin7 Core as the central platform, with a carefully scoped set of integrations to connect it to the rest of the business.
BlueHub implemented and configured Cin7 Core, integrating it with Xero for finance, Shopify and Amazon for online sales channels, PayPal for payments and Shiptheory for fulfilment. To address Bailey’s complex reporting requirements, BlueHub also brought in EasyInsight, connecting it directly to Cin7 Core to provide custom reporting.
BlueHub delivered in-person training and user acceptance testing at Bailey’s Manchester headquarters, ensuring the team was confident and ready before go-live. The entire project, from initial review to go-live, was completed in four months.
“Working with BlueHub to implement Cin7 Core was one of the best decisions we’ve made. They didn’t just install the software, they took time to understand our business, our pain points, and what would actually work for us. The support was outstanding. Quick to respond, knowledgeable, and genuinely easy to work with.”
